Goals

Goals

I am running for school board because I want to ensure that all the students of West Chicago have a high quality educational experience and that we are teaching them the essential skills to be successful throughout life, such as thinking critically, being creative, working collaboratively, and knowing how to communicate effectively.

To do this, I believe our district should:

  • Provide a differentiated education to meet each child’s needs, with appropriate interventions for both gifted learners and those with learning difficulties applied consistently across schools
  • Invest in our infrastructure to provide a high quality learning environment
  • Embrace our diversity and ensure our students have opportunities to learn from each other, which should include expand the dual language program
  • Support our educators, and ensure that we are attracting and retaining high quality talent
  • Engage parents and ensure parents’ voices and experiences are heard and represented on the school board
  • Continue to focus on good fiscal health

I recognize that work for many of these items is already in progress, but I believe that I can contribute to this work and help guide our district into the future.
